Anna "Betty" E. (Coyle) Romain

Anna E. “Betty” (Coyle) Romain, age 89, of Evansville, IN, our beloved mother passed away at 11:25 p.m. on Friday, August 10, 2018, at home.

Betty was born November 12, 1928, in Detroit, MI, to Estyl and Eugenia (Gibbs) Coyle. Betty was a devoted Christian, instilled those beliefs into her family and was a 63-year member of Central United Methodist Church. She was a member of the US Class Sunday School, and most recently the 4C’ers Class. Betty was a member of the Mary Barbara Brooks Circle, Honored Ladies at Hadi Shrine, Daughters of The Nile and Eastern Star, Robert Morris Chapter.   She was also a former member of the Evansville Country Club and the Ladies’ 9 Hole Association, the Kennel Club and the Philharmonic Guild.  Betty and her late husband, Bob, owned several businesses in the Evansville area.  The family founded United Leasing, Inc. in 1964, Professional Transportation, Inc. in 1980, and Romain Automotive Group in 1986. 

She is survived by her children, Linda (Daryel) Harris, of Boonville, Gloria (Steve) Millay, of Evansville, Ronald (Connie) Romain, of Evansville and Pamela Boylls, of Evansville; daughter in law, Linda Harrison Romain of Evansville; brothers, Glen (Barbara) Coyle and Dale (Claudia) Coyle of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Cathy Ferris, Andy Harris, Heather Harris, Rev. Christopher Millay, Amy Barron, David Romain, Eric Millay, Jeff Romain, Stephanie Buse, Daniel Romain, Katie Boylls, and Clay Boylls; and 20 great grandchildren.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Charles Romain, Sr in 1997; son, Robert “Bobby” Charles Romain, Jr in 2013; son in law Mark Boylls; sister, Norma Gaston; and great grandchildren, Matthew Romain, Dylan Harris, and Blake Buse.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Central United Methodist Church, 300 Mary Street, Evansville, IN with Reverend Christopher Millay, Reverend Kevin Reed and Reverend Joe Easley officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. 

Friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 13, 2018 at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL and from 9:00 a.m. until service time, Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Central United Methodist Church.
