Audra Rose Brown Obituary

Audra Rose (Stephens) Brown, age 48, of Newburgh, IN, passed away at 2:05 p.m. on Sunday, August 26, 2018, from an ongoing battle with Multiple Myeloma, a terminal blood cancer since January 31, 2013.

Audra Rose was born March 18, 1970 to John and Brenda (Robertson) Stephens. She grew up in a town called Yankeetown and spent many hours at her beloved grandparent’s house where she shared a special bond with her grandfather, “Pops.”

Audra Rose always had a love of learning about everything during her school years and kept that quest for knowledge throughout her entire life constantly reading about science and the yet-to-be-discovered.

After working fifteen years in healthcare, Audra Rose left her career and became a stay-at-home mother to her most treasured person in the world, her beloved daughter, Roma. She prayed for a baby to come into her life for five years and fought a painful debilitating cancer day after day just to spend one more day with her precious child. Audra Rose had a chiweenie dog named Chance, who was her constant companion and best buddy. She spent her entire life devoted to animals; she rescued and cared for all creatures, both large and small.

Audra Rose regarded all life as sacred and loved all things nostalgic that reminded her of simpler times. She loved watching movies, especially old monster movies and anything science fiction related.

She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Chris Brown; beloved daughter, Roma Alayna Brown; and mother, Brenda Stephens.

She is preceded in death by her father, John Stephens.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 31, 2018 at St. Rupert’s Catholic Church, 1244 Red Brush Road, Newburgh with Father Jack Durchholz and Father Ralph Schipp officiating. Burial will be in St. Rupert’s Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville and from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Friday, August 31, 2018 at St. Rupert’s Catholic Church. Prayer Service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.

Audra Rose has asked that bubbles be blown into the air during the graveside service so that she may see “a rainbow in the sky” in honor of her.

Audra Rose wants to give a special thanks to her mother, Brenda Stephens, who took daily care of her and Roma during Audra Rose’s long battle with cancer. Brenda was always at her side and a constant support to our family. We could not have made it without her help. Audra Rose also wishes to thank all friends and family who supported her with their kindness and deeds throughout her illness. For as you do unto others so shall it be done unto you; and in pardoning we are pardoned, and in dying, we are born to eternal life. Thanks so much, Audra Rose Brown. The family would also like to say a special thank you to everyone who cared for Audra Rose in Hospice Care.
