Bettye R. Brandenstein, age 93, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 8:45 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2019, at her home.
Bettye was born November 6, 1926, in Mt. Vernon, IN, to Claude Walker and Norma (Sailer) Walker. She graduated from Reitz High School in 1945 and worked as an office manager for various Evansville petroleum companies. She was a past president of the Desk and Derrick Club. Bettye enjoyed bowling at Arc Lanes, golfing at Evansville Country Club, where she was a member of the 9-hole golf association, was a member of the Daughters of the Nile Isis Temple 41, was an avid bridge player, and was a member at the St. John's East United Church of Christ.
Bettye is survived by her daughter, Lisa Jayne (Brandenstein) Beard of Floyds Knobs, IN; son, David Paul Brandenstein (Therese) of Downers Grove, IL; stepson Richard Paul Brandenstein (Pat) of Winchester, TN; nine grandchildren, AJ, Brandy, Matthew, Paul, Mary, Emily, Amy, Abigail, and Nathan, and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents; husband of 28 years, Paul Herbert Brandenstein on August 6, 1988; brothers, James Walker and John Matthew Walker; and sisters, Norma JoAnn (Walker) Gresham and Claudine (Walker) Rexroad.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 28, 2019 at St. John’s East United Church of Christ, 7000 Lincoln Ave, Evansville, IN, with Pastor Robert Walker officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Saturday, December 28, 2019 at St. John’s East United Church of Christ.
