Billy Max Benefield

Billy Max Benefield, age 68, of Fairbanks, AK, gained his wings at 1:08 a.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 in Evansville, IN.

Billy was born November 10, 1949, in El Centro, CA, to Wilburn Carmax and Juanita (Kerns) Benefield. He was an extraordinary musician and songwriter. He could always be found strumming his acoustic guitar and singing at any gathering he attended. He performed at many locations in the Fairbanks and North Pole area and made many friends along the way. He was the life of the party with his pranks and jokes.

He is survived by his mother, Juanita Martin; sisters, Sharon, Joanne, Ellen, Tammy, and Sandy; brother, David; three daughters, Robin Busch (Mark), Jodie McCarter (Michael), and Billie Allen (John); nine grandchildren, Brandy, Shaylen, Nathan, Brooke, Kasey, Aleshia, Brandon, Sheldon, and Spencer; eight great-grandchildren; and nephews, Robert and James Blue.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Judy Ann Benefield, who passed away March 1, 2018; grandchild, Deanna; brother Dennis Benefield; and father, Max Benefield.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Heritage Hospice for their care.
