Charles D. Kull, Sr., age 85, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 11:03 p.m. on Monday, September 10, 2018, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.
Charles was born on February 3, 1933, in Lawrenceville, IL, to the late Harold and Dolly (Conn) Kull. He graduated from Lawrenceville High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from University of Illinois. Charles was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He was stationed out of Jacksonville, FL, and patrolled the North Atlantic in a Lockheed P2V Neptune as a navigator. Charles held management and leadership positions in the pharmaceutical and insurance industries throughout his career. This included positions at Roche Laboratories, GlaxoSmithKline, and Pfizer. Throughout his career, he lived in Colorado, Ohio, Illinois, and Indiana. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cooking.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Barbara E. (Knote) Kull; daughters, Priscilla Kull-Bentley (Randy) and Celeste Kull-Ashe (Jamie); sons, Courtenay “Court” A. Kull (Kelly), Dave Kull (Joan), and Corbett Kull (Joy); sister, Janet Gravitt; grandchildren, Taylor Bentley-Davis, Reed Bentley, Will Bentley, Christopher Kull, Ella Kull, Zachary Kull, Regan Kull, Charles David Chance Kull III, Sidney Kull, Autumn Ashe, and Duncan Ashe; two great-grandchildren Hudson Bentley and Lynx Davis.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mary Carolyn (Smith) Kull; his brother Alten Kull, and brother-in-law, Bob Gravitt.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN, with Father John Pfister officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery where full military rites will be performed.
