Charles Powers Obituary

Charles K. Powers, age 78, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 9:08 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2019, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Charles was born September 17, 1941, in Evansville, IN, to the late Prentice and Genevieve (Erkman) Powers. He graduated from Reitz High School in 1959 and served in the United States Army Reserves. Charles was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church for many years and was recently attending Central United Methodist Church where he was the leader of the 4Cer’s Sunday School Class. He attended Evansville College before earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Technology from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 1964. He retired in 1966 as the Plant Manager at Meritor Wabco, formerly known as Rockwell International.

He is survived by his dear friend, Linda Wambach of Evansville, IN; daughter, Christine Powers of Sterling Heights, MI; son, David Powers of Evansville, IN; sister, Donna Carter (Michael) of Lake St. Louis, MO; and former wife, Rebecca Powers of Warren, MI.
