Dorothy Campbell Obituary

Dorothy Mae (Cain) Campbell, age 92, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 8:33 a.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital.

Dorothy was born February 1, 1927, in Tiptonville, TN, to Lum Edward Cain and Ima (Farrar) Cain Roe. She was a member of Bible Center Cathedral for over 66 years. During that time, Dorothy sang in the choir, was a Sunday School secretary and teacher, a Vacation Bible School worker, and a member of Sunshine Seniors with whom she greatly loved working. She worked as a clerk for 40 years at Crescent Cleaners. Dorothy loved her family and spending time with them. She enjoyed reading, especially her Bible, and she liked baking and knitting.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Barbara Wallis (David) of Sevierville, TN, and Paula Johnston of Evansville; grandchildren, Michelle Miller (Kevin), Michael Paul Johnston (Misty), and Justin Wallis; great grandchildren, Megan Miller, Lindsey Miller, Tyler Johnston (Brooke), McKenzie Johnston, and Cleiton Johnston; great great granddaughter, Josie Wren Johnston; and brother, Charles Cain.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Paul Campbell, who passed away in 2008; sisters, Marie Alexander, Mable Sharp, and Peggy Carter; brother, Lum Edward Cain II; and son-in-law, Michael Johnston.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 7, 2019, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Rick VanHoose officiating. Entombment will be at a later date in Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Saturday, December 7, 2019, at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL.
