Dorothy E. Elzer, 93, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away at 1:49 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Greenbriar Village.
Dorothy was born August 27, 1924 in Boonville, Indiana the daughter of Louis and Bernice (Rhoades) Roeder and was a 1941 graduate of Boonville High School. She was a 50 plus year member of First Baptist Church in Evansville and a member of the Homebuilders Sunday School Class. Dorothy was a beautician and operated a beauty shop in her home for many years.
Dorothy is survived by daughter, Sherrilyn “Sherry” von Harten (Richard) of Greenwood, IN; grandchildren, Aaron von Harten of Medina, OH, Kristina Allen of Columbus, IN, Andrew von Harten of Indianapolis, IN, and Julie Wing of Evansville, IN; 14 great grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 41 years, Henry W. Elzer on June 30, 1984; and sister, Virginia “Jean” Conner.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Reverend Marvin Roeder officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until service time, Saturday, May 19, 2018 at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL.
