Garvin Verle Lamb, 79, of Evansville, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001, at Deaconess Hospital of complications of cancer.
He retired in 1983 as an engineer with Freeze Dry Products. He had worked as a cut stone contractor in Gary, Ind., and was a woodworking craftsman.
He was a World War II Army veteran, receiving a Bronze Star and was a member of American Legion Post 265.
He was a member of the East- view Community Nazarene Church and Gideons International.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Betty (Beach); a daughter, Donna Maglinger of Independence, Mo.; a son, James of Evansville; five grandchildren, Rob, Ryan and Randy Maglinger and Chad and Sarah Lamb; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Eastview Community Church of the Nazarene, the Revs. Bill L. Reed and David Edwards officiating, with burial in Tupman Cemetery, with military rites.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
