Gary Brentt Bufkin

Gary Brentt Bufkin age 69, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 10:40 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at Linda E. White Hospice House.

Gary was born November 24, 1949, in Evansville, IN, to Richard H. and Adaline (Phelps) Bufkin. He was a member of Vann Avenue Baptist Church. Gary loved to sing and would perform songs to anyone he met. He loved people and never met a stranger. Gary was an avid Elvis Presley fan.

Gary is survived by his aunts, Judy Bitter and Peggy Williams; and numerous cousins and extended family.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Karen Bufkin Simpkins; and brother, Robin Ross Bufkin.

The family would like to say a special thank you to his guardian, Linda Van Horn – Smith, for her loving care. A special thanks as well to ResCare. Gary was involved with them for many years as they provided him with compassionate care, assistance, and friendship.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 23, 2019, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Reverend Glen Flowers officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.  

Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Friday, August 23, 2019, at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL.
