Geraldine (Beard) Gass

Geraldine (Beard) Gass, age 83, of Newburgh, IN, passed away at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 30, 2018, at home.

Geraldine was born May 29, 1935, in Evansville, IN. Her parents were Willett and Ethel (Bryan) Berry. She attended Madisonville High School. Geraldine was an active member of Vann Avenue Baptist Church for 50 years. She worked for the Vanderburgh County Auditorium as Secretary/Bookkeeper and later at the Evansville – Vanderburgh County Building Authority as a Receptionist. In 1986, she was a delegate to the Indiana Democrat State Convention.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Charles Gass; daughters, Shawnna Gerding (Phil) and Lynda Merrill (Jeff); sons, Marty Gass (Carol) and Jon Stephen Gass; grandchildren, Brian Gerding (Megan), Kevin Gass, Christopher Gass, Chrystal Day (Matt), Morgan Merrill, and Kaden Merrill; and 1 great-grandchild on the way, Claire Elizabeth.

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Lisa Gass; and brother, Edward Beard.

The family would to say a special thank you to Dr. Mark Meyers and his staff, Heritage Hospice Staff, and especially Pastor Tim for their care and support.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Friday, August 3, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Reverend Dr. Larry Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Friday, August 3, 2018 at BOONE FUNERAL HOME – EAST CHAPEL.
