Gloria Inez (Tooke) Alvers, age 79, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018, at Linda White Hospice House.

Gloria was born July 26, 1938, in Evansville, IN, to Orbie and Wilma (Hollis) Tooke. She was a Central High School graduate. Gloria was a member of Harwood Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking dinners for their special events. She especially loved her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Carl Alvers; daughters, Cathy (Maurice) Rigdon of Henderson, KY and Ruth Ann Gentry of Evansville, IN; son, Mark Glisson of Evansville, IN; sister, Rosemary Allen of Newburgh, IN; brothers, Kenneth (Pat) Tooke of Indianapolis, IN and Larry Tooke of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Christina, Alicia (Brad), Benjamin (Tammy), Andrea (James), Douglas (Stephanie), Lisa (Chad), and Kevin (Cyrena); 23 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Virginia Marlene Slater; and brother, Orbie “Bud” Tooke.

Burial and Services will be Private.

Arrangements are being handled by Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN.
