Gordon Secrest

Gordon Secrest, age 62, of Evansville, Indiana, stepped into Heaven at 8:00 pm, on Monday, November 13, 2017, at his residence.

Gordon was born May 8, 1955, to the late Julius Gordon Secrest and Mary Secrest (Moles). He graduated from Reitz High School in 1973. He attended Bethel Church and enjoyed being self-employed. Gordon loved his family and grandkids, playing the piano, working as a master gardener, hiking and the outdoors, traveling, reading, and faithfully following his Lord Jesus throughout his life. He was a gentle soul who will forever be remembered for his compassion, kindness, and peace.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Janice “Jan” Secrest (Quirk); daughter, Mariah Secrest-Comer (Jeff Comer) of Phoeniz, AZ; son, Jeremy (Joy) Secrest of Newburgh, IN; mother, Mary Secrest; brothers, Jeff (Sharon) Secrest of Tuscon, AZ and Steve (Joeli) Secrest of Tuscon, AZ; grandchildren, Jeremiah Secrest, Hope Secrest, and Harper Secrest; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father as well as his nephew, Seth George.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 am, Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel - A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville with Pastor Dave Schwambach and Pastor Coy Walters officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 4 pm until 7 pm, Friday, November 17, 2017, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
