Harold W. “Bud” Gardner, Sr., age 81, of Spring Hill, FL, formerly of Evansville, IN, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, FL.
Bud was born October 20, 1936, in Indianapolis, IN, to the late William & Edna (Ward) Gardner. He graduated from Thomas Carr Howe High School in 1954. Bud was a Master of the Evansville Daylight Lodge 752. He finished his apprenticeship at General Motors – Allison Division in Indianapolis, worked at Dolen Tool in Greenwood, IN, and was a machinist who worked as a tool and die maker for Alcoa for 24 years. Bud enjoyed fishing, golfing, and woodworking.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Sue Ellen (Huck) Gardner; sons, Harold W. “Bud” Gardner, Jr., Robert K. “Bob” Gardner (Kelly), and Lawrence “Larry” Gardner (Gladys); and grandchildren, Jorge, Shelby, Tyler, and Alex.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters; and 1 brother.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Danny Barr officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL. Evansville Daylight Lodge 752 will conduct a Masonic Service at 6:30 p.m.
