Henry C. Allen

Henry C. Allen, age 92, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 3:20 p.m. on Sunday, December 29, 2019, at Walnut Creek Special Care Center.

Henry was born October 3, 1927 in Evansville, IN to Hiram Hall Allen and Clara Virginia (Howard) Allen. He graduated from Reitz High School in 1945 and was employed with Amoco Oil for 32 years. Henry was a lifelong member of Blue Grass United Methodist Church. He joined the Marine Corps, November of 1951 and proudly served his country during the Korean War.

Henry is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Doris Jean (Hoover) Allen; nephew, Hiram E. Oslin of Mt. Juliet, TN; sister in-law, Ruby Heseman; brother in-law and sister in-law, Ronald and Sue Menke, and many other nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. He especially enjoyed teaching them how to water ski.

Henry is preceded in death by his parents, Hiram and Clara, and half-sister, Elizabeth Allen -Oslin; brother in-law and sister in-law, Ross and Joyce McCutchan and brother in-law, Loren Heseman.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 3, 2020 at Blue Grass United Methodist Church Chapel at 14240 Petersburg Rd, Evansville, IN, with Reverend Doug Heilman officiating. Burial will be in Blue Grass Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 2, 2020 at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL – A Family Tradition Funeral Home at 5330 Washington Ave., Evansville, IN and from 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 3, 2020 at Blue Grass United Methodist Church Chapel until time of service.

The Marine Corps League will do a presentation at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Januray 2, 2020 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
