Hurshel B. Cobb

Hurshel B. Cobb, age 92, passed away at 5:10 am on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Signature Healthcare of Newburgh.

Hurshel was born April 14, 1925, in Dixon, Kentucky, to the late McCoy B. Cobb and the late Mary M. Holmes. He assisted Pastor RR Schwambach at Bethel Tabernacle and was instrumental in the move to their present location. He was the past president of the Bible Fellowship Hour at Bethel Church, as well as a Deacon, Treasurer, Trustee, and Sunday School Superintendent of the church for many years.

He was also the Governor of Midwest District of Civitan International, Charter President of the Northside Civitan Club, and was awarded the Honor Key of the Civitan. Hurshel worked as an assessor for Vanderburgh and Warrick Counties, and was a retired salesman from AM International after 18 ½ years.

Hurshel is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Majasca “Jackie” (Hanor) Cobb; daughter, Lana Lockhart (Dennis); son, Donald A. Cobb (Patricia); grandchildren, Sara Cobb, Tara Cobb, and Kristina Lockhart; and sister-in-law, Agatha Cobb.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Darrin Lee Cobb; and brother, Charles D. Cobb.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel - A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville with Pastor Dave Schwambach officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 2 pm until 7 pm, Monday, November 20, 2017, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
