James E. Scarbrough, age 65, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 2:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, 2018, at home.
James was born August 6, 1952, in Evansville, IN, to Clesta (Stuckey) Scarbrough and the late Henry Scarbrough. He attended Harrison High School and went on to work as a mechanic. James was a member of the VFW Post # 2953, and he enjoyed helping out there. He loved Stock Car Racing, being funny, and enjoyed making people laugh. James loved his family more than anything, and he would do anything for anyone at anytime. He loved his dogs, Buster, Nyla, Mickey, and Chico.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years and childhood sweetheart, Mary Ellen (Waters) Scarbrough; daughter, Jammie Scarbrough; sons, Aaron Scarbrough and Tony Scarbrough; grandchildren, Payton, Meredith, Americus, Daytona, Hailey, Mackayla, and Dylan; and many sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the visiting nurses from Deaconess and the MSA Hospice Nurses.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Shannon Shehorn and Pastor Justin Jackman officiating. Burial will be Private.
Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL.
