James E. “Buster” “Roscoe” Lindsey, age 74, of Newburgh, IN, passed away peacefully at 5:43 a.m. on Friday, October 18, 2019, at home, surrounded by his family.
Buster was born August 16, 1945, in Newburgh, IN, to Paul R. and Dorthea (Darnhart) Lindsey. He attended Central High School and was a Vietnam Veteran in the United States Army, serving 1965 – 1967 as a Specialist E4 with 1st Cavalry in Vietnam. Buster was a member of the American Legion Kapperman Post 44 and the Legion Riders. He was also a member of the Harley Davidson’s group, The H.O.G. Club. He worked as a Truck Driver for Floyd Staub Excavating where he was known as Roscoe.
Buster is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Juanita (Happel) Lindsey; daughters, Annette Lindsey (Charo Schmitt) of Lynnville, IN, and Karen Lindsey Meng (Mark Palmieri)of Nashville, TN; sisters, Sharon Wilson of Evansville, IN, Mary Wilks of Cape Canaveral, FL, and Jane Lindsey of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Abigail Pickard, Lilly Meng, Kayla Meng, and Blake Meng; and family friend, Gary Susa.
Buster is preceded by his parents; sisters, Lois Timmel, Pat Thurman, Helen Luttrell, Doris Lindsey; and brother, Jerry Lindsey.
The family would like to say a special “thank you” to Rhonda Livernois (family friend) and Susan Greenberg (niece) for their loving care and concern.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Jonathan Scott and Pastor Harold Rittenberry officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 21, 2019, and from 9:00 a.m. until service time, Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL.
