John Wesley Hanna Jr., 72, of Newburgh, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, at St. Mary’s Comprehensive Nursing & Rehabilitation of cancer.
He retired in 1993 from New- Kro Oil Co. after 17 years as a regional supervisor, and had worked for Red Bird Gas Stations for 14 years. He was a Korean War Army veteran. He attended Newburgh Presbyterian Church and was a member of First Baptist Church in Eldorado, Ark. He was a member of the Evansville Oilman’s Association, an avid golfer and past president of the Rolling Hills Country Club.
Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Dora (Morgan); a sister, Katy Townsend of Jackson, Miss.; and a niece and nephews who cared for him, Nancy Mitchell, William Townsend and Robert and Richard Meeks.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Arlington Cemetery in Eldorado, the Rev. William Townsend officiating.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
