John J. Yarbor, age 90, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 10:23 a.m. on Monday, December 24, 2018.
John was born February 12, 1928, in Wabash County, IL, to John Alfred and Pauline (Beidleman) Yarbor. He served in the US Army from 1948 to 1952 including time in Allied-occupied Germany and Austria. In 1953 he joined the US Air Force and served as a flight engineer, instructor and crew chief on various aircraft including the C119, C130, B52 and C141. After retiring from the Air Force in 1969, John worked for Rhoades Aviation in Columbus, IN, retiring in 1993 as Vice President of Maintenance.
John loved animals and enjoyed travel, nature hikes, swimming, the beach and watching sports. He attended Westwood Church.
John is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lois Yarbor; daughters, Mary Kamrath (Mark) of Newburgh, IN and Lori Young (Kevin) of Evansville, IN; son, Wesley Yarbor of Westport, IN; sisters, Mary McCormick (Richard) of Belle Rive, IL and Barbara Rodgers of Mt. Carmel, IL; brother, Richard Yarbor (Bonnie) of Burns, OR; and grandchildren, Cole Yarbor, Jess Yarbor, Jamie Yarbor, Nate Kamrath, Luke Kamrath and Dan Kamrath.
He is preceded in death by his parents, five siblings and daughter in law, Brenda Yarbor.
Funeral Services and Burial will be private.
