June (Teague) Purcell

June (Teague) Purcell, age 95, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 11:28 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at Linda E. White Hospice House.

June was born June 12, 1924, in Vincennes, IN, to William E. and Hazel G. (Wolf) Teague. She graduated from Central High School. June was a life member of Olivet Presbyterian Church. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Purdue University where she was a member of Chi Omega Alpha Beta Kappa, National Social. June retired from Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation after teaching for 32 years at Central High School.

June is survived by her dear friends Pauletta Litherland Woods, Beth Litherland Turcotte, Emma Turcotte, and Diana Fast (Tim); and nieces and nephews, Angela Patti (Anthony), Debbie Hill, Bill Beck, Marsha Boyd, Dick Crane (Judy), Mary Crane (Lesley), David Crane (Chris), and other nieces and nephews.

June is preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband, Guy Purcell, Jr., in 1976.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Linda E. White Hospice House for their loving care during June’s final hours.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Reverend Dave Mills officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.  

Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until service time, Saturday, August 31, 2019 at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL.
