Lenard Pearson, age 95, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019.
Lenard was born November 9, 1923, in Danville, IL, to Isaac and Anne (Wolf) Pearson. He graduated from Central High School in Evansville. Lenard excelled as a student at Vanderbilt University, Indiana University, and Evansville College where he earned his accounting degree, later earning his CPA designation. Lenard was an active member of Temple Adath B’nai Israel. Lenard had an extensive career in various aspects of the oil business and later owned Blockbuster Stores in Indiana and Kentucky for 22 years. He was a proud US Army Air Corps veteran who served in WWII as a meteorologist in the Philippines and was privileged to participate, with his son, in the November 2018 Honor Flight to Washington, DC. Lenard loved to travel and visited places around the world with family and friends.
Lenard is survived by the love of his life and wife of 66 years, Marcia (Goldben) Pearson; daughters, Cynthia Pearson (Martin) and Amy Letourneau (Brian); sons, David Pearson (Margaret) and Charles Pearson (Melanie); grandchildren, Brienne (Richard), Nicole (fiancé, Andres), Daniel, Matthew, and Michael; great grandchildren, Connor and Julia; and nieces and nephews.
Lenard is preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Sylvia and Hilda.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2019 at Temple Adath B’nai Israel, 8440 Newburgh Road, Evansville, with Rabbi Gary Mazo officiating. Burial will be in Mount Sinai Jewish Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Boone Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville.
