Linda J. (Key) Heard

Linda J. (Key) Heard, age 67, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at her residence.

Linda was born February 16, 1950, in Providence, KY, to Ansel Key and Edna “Jewell” (Hill) Key. She graduated from Bosse High School in 1968, University of Southern Indiana with a Bachelor’s Degree, and Murray State University with a Master’s Degree in Vocational and Technical Education. She was an Academic Instructor with Earl C. Clements Job Corps.  Linda was a member of Evansville General Baptist Church in Evansville, IN and was active in AWANA programs for area churches. Linda loved music. She particularly loved Charles Ives and classical music, but enjoyed all genres. She especially loved her family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Bill Heard; daughters, Sonja Sharer and Sarah Recinos (David) of Evansville, IN; son, Senior Master Sergeant Aaron Heard of Bossier City, LA; sisters, Rhonda Sartore of Evansville, IN, Vonda Roy of Tennyson, IN, and Teresa Ryor (Brett) of Chandler, IN; brother, Gary Key (Jolene) of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Emily Heard, Shelby Sharer, Jessica Sharer, and Keirsten Heard; great grandchildren, Dante Heard and Raymond Wynegar.

Linda is preceded in death by her father and son-in-law, Blake Sharer.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Brett Ryor Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.  

Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 9, 2018 and 9:00 a.m. until time of service at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Deaconess VNA Hospice at 600 Mary Street, Evansville, IN 47747.
