Marilois (Koss) Barker

Marilois (Koss) Barker, 78 of Evansville, Indiana, passed away at 8:20 AM, Saturday, February 17, 2018, at her home.

Born Saturday, August 12, 1939 in Savoy, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Florence (Fackler) Koss.  Marilois was a 1957 graduate of Central High School in Champaign, IL.  After retiring from Cabot Corp where she worked as an Administrative Assistant for nine years, Marilois married her loving husband, Joseph Barker on September 29, 1989. Prior to her position at Cabot Corporation, she worked for the University of Illinois. Marilois was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church and she enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and fishing. 

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Joseph Barker; daughters, Mimi Myers of Indianapolis, IN and Melanie Dougherty (Robert) of Pine Beach, NJ; stepson, Brad Barker of Mansfield, OH; sister, Doris Miller of Savoy, IL; grandchildren, Cameron Barker, Emily Barker, Kate Ambrosio, and Brennan Dougherty.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Melvin Myers; sister, Maxine Wishall; and stepson, Kohler Barker.

A Service of the Resurrection of Life will be held at 4:00 pm, Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Reverend Dr. Dennis Davenport officiating. Burial will be in private.  

Friends may visit from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm, Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home - East Chapel.
