Mary Emily Damm

Mary Emily Damm, 95, of Evansville, IN passed away on Monday, June 25, 2018 at Evansville Protestant Home.

Mary was born March 22, 1923 in Evansville to Ralph A. and Harriett M. (Kerr) Guthrie. Mary attended Stanley Hall School and was a 1941 graduate of Bosse High School. She attended Bramwell Business College and worked as a secretary at Faultless Caster. She was a member of St. John's East United Church of Christ.

Mary grew up a Brooklyn Dodgers fan and continued to follow the team after the team's move to Los Angeles. She enjoyed reading biographies, especially the lives of First Ladies of the United States. Mary was an adventurous traveler taking month-long trips across the country with her daughters. She liked to visit state capitals, national parks, presidential homes and libraries, art museums, univeristy campuses, and baseball parks. Mary was an avid flower gardener with a backyard full of daffodils, irises, peonies, lilies, and roses and a lover of pets, including her cats Fluffy and Juergen.

She is survived by daughters, Mary Carolyn Damm of Bloomington, IN and Nancy Ann Damm of Ann Arbor, MI.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Martha Ann Allemong; and husband of 44 years, Howard Damm.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
