Mary Alice (Schultheis) Fisher, age 80, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 8:58 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018, at home with loved ones by her side.
Mary Alice was born in Evansville, IN on July 27, 1937 to the late Frank and Mildred (Kuhlenschmidt) Schultheis. She was a 1955 graduate of Bosse High School and attended Indiana State Teacher’s College in Terre Haute, IN.
After college, Mary Alice married and traveled with her family to various cities across the country. Mary Alice returned to Evansville in 1976 to work in the family business, Schultheis Insurance Agency, until her retirement in 2015.
She was a faithful, longtime member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ in Evansville. Mary Alice valued and maintained close relationships with her Bosse High class of ’55 classmates. This close knit group got together over a meal every month for many years.
Mary Alice treasured her family, who always enjoyed her famous “Grandma Mary” cookies. Any occasion that included this special treat became all the more special.
Mary Alice is survived by her daughters, Cindy Schultz (Ed) of Ft. Wayne, IN and Debbie Kinney (Keith) of Evansville, sister, Frances Ackerman of Carmi, IL, brothers, Frank Schultheis (Judy) and Alton “Bud” Schultheis (Lois), all of Evansville; grandchildren, Elizabeth Kinney Sponseller (Adam), Isaac Kinney, Ryan Schultz (Mary) and Eric Schultz (Jessica), and great-grandson, Oliver Sponseller. She is preceded in death by her parents and her infant son, David.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday March 7, 2018, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Greg Davis officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. until 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
