Michael Weissmann

Michael Weissmann, age 53, of Newburgh, IN, passed away at 8:39 a.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital – Evansville.

Michael was born April 14, 1965, in West Allis, WI, to James and Mary Ann (Miller) Weissmann. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Western Kentucky University. Michael was an insurance agent for Commerce Insurance Company and previously for Schultheis Insurance Company, and he was the previous owner of Weissmann Insurance. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Michael loved his dogs, Mandy and Penny, and he loved cooking, reading, watching FOX News and Food Network. He loved his family and especially loved their get-togethers.

He is survived by his father and step-mother, James and Judie Weissmann; loving wife of 8 years, Rhonda (Jenkins) Weissmann; sons, Aaron and Andrew Weissmann; step-son, Eitel “Skip” Schroeder (Jessica); step-daughter, Laura Winstanley; brothers, William Weissmann (Kristin), Jeffrey Weissmann (Dee Dee), and Timothy Weissmann (Christie); granddaughter, Felicity Schroeder; and nieces and nephews, Benjamin, Matthew, Katherine, Peter, Leann, Rebecca, and Brian.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann Weissmann, who passed away in 1998 and his daughter, Abigail “Abbi” Ann Weissmann, who passed away in 2014.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 13, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Road, Newburgh with Father John Pfister and Father Joe Ziliak officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. 

Friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, August 12, 2018 at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 12, 2018. Friends may also visit from 9:00 a.m. until service time, Monday, August 13, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
