Nancy Powers (Powers) Hazlewood

Nancy Powers Hazlewood, age 78, of Newburgh, passed away at 9:32 am on Sunday, December 10, 2017, at Golden Living in Newburgh.

Nancy was born March 17, 1939, to the late Oran Powers and Ruth (Turner) Powers. She was born and raised in Evansville and graduated from Bosse High School in 1956. Nancy was the president several times for the Baptist Woman’s Missionary Union and was a member of the Daughters of American Revolution. She loved reading about the Civil war. Nancy also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Larry Hazlewood of Newburgh, IN; daughter, Rebecca Van Hooser, her husband, Patrick, and their children, John Austin and William, all of Lusby, MD.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, David Powers.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 am, Thursday, December 14, 2017, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel - A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville with Reverend Reggie Haire officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 3 pm until 7 pm, Wednesday, December 13, 2017 and 9 am until time of service at 10 am, Thursday, December 14, 2017, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel - A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville.
