Neal E. Marvel

September 1, 1920 ~ August 30, 2001 (age 80)

Neal E. Marvel, 81, of Evansville, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, at home. He retired from Whirlpool in 1984 after 22 years as a press operator. He then
worked 10 years at GFI Pharmaceutical. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran with service as a radio operator. He served in Burma, India and China and made 79 missions over the Hi­malayas. He taught Sunday school for 54 consecutive years and held of­fices at Church of the Nazarene in Mackey, Ind.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Rosemary (Doerner); two daughters, Diana Thompson of Evansville and Debra Adamson of Newburgh; a son, Stewart Neal of Griffin, Ind.; a sister, Erma Crocken of Fairview Heights, 111*; a brother, Billy Ernest of Fort Myers, Fla.; five grandchildren, Kimberly Morrison, Amie Dem­ining, Billy Adamson and Joseph and Jonathan Marvel; two great- granddaughters; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mackey Church of the Nazarene, the Revs. Bill Reed and Thomas Hill officiat­ing, with burial in Sunset Park Cemetery with military rites by Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Association.

Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. today at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel and from 9 a.m. to service time at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons Internation­al or Mackey Church of the Nazarene.
