Richard "Scott" Byers

Richard “Scott” Byers, age 53, of Newburgh, IN, passed away at 5:15 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2018, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.

Scott was born August 10, 1964, in Evansville, IN, to the late Danny Byers and Sharon (Tosh) Byers. He graduated from Castle High School in 1982. Scott was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, camping, and NASCAR. He was passionate about spending time volunteering for the Warrick County Republican Party.

He is survived by his mother, Sharon (Tosh) Byers; sister, Sarah Redman (Ryan); niece, Crystal Marx (Courtney); nephews, Kyle Thomas, Wyatt Topper, Jackson Topper, McKayne Redman, and Ryder Redman; great nieces; and many aunts and uncles.

He is preceded in death by his father and sister, Danna Thomas.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Morgan Flagler officiating. Burial will be in Bates Hill Cemetery in Yankeetown.  

Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
