Ruth E (Montgomery) Schlusemeyer

Ruth E. (Montgomery) Schlusemeyer, age 94, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Linda E White Hospice.

Ruth was born September 23, 1923, in Dixie, KY to the late Ortho & Stella (Pullum) Montgomery. She was a member of Christian Fellowship Church, past president of American Business Women’s Association, Evansville Museum Member, Kennel Club Member, enthusiastic supporter of University of Evansville basketball, world traveler, accomplished seamstress, enjoyed reading, knitting, arranging flowers, and playing Clabber and Bunco.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia A. Farmer (Larry); grandchildren, Ashley Farmer White (Robert), Scott White, and Ryan L. Farmer (Rachael); and 6 great grandchildren; best friend, Dave Thomas; cousins, Barbara Morgan, Judy Seib (Kurt), Sylvia Garvey, Bob Blackman, Scott Blackman, and Alyson Garvey; and grand-niece, Kimberly Clark.

She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved step-mother, Annie (Cato) Montgomery Napps; her loving husband of 29 years, Dale Frederick Schlusemeyer, who passed away in 1977; brother, George David Montgomery; and Aunt Ruby (Pullum) Gatlin.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Kris Holzmeyer officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 2, 2018. 

Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
