Shirley (Ray) Feather

Shirley (Ray) Feather, age 73, of Newburgh, IN, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour at 2:51 p.m. on Monday, November 4, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital Evansville surrounded by her loving family.

Shirley was born May 29, 1946, in Tutwiler, Mississippi, to Arnie D. and Edna (Powell) Ray. She graduated from Tutwiler High School in 1964. Shirley retired from the United States Postal Service in 2002. She loved spending time reading and singing to her grandkids as well as watching John Wayne movies. Shirley was a member of First Southern Baptist Church.  

Shirley is survived by her loving husband, Harmon; son, Harmon E. Feather, Jr. (Amy) of Newburgh, IN; daughters, Cristy Whitehead (Andy) of Palmyra, TN and Betsy Cave (Tom) of Chandler; and grandchildren, Jamie Whitehead, JaiLynne Whitehead, Natalie Feather, Shelby Cave and Wayne Feather.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Bonnie Ray and brother, Robert Ray.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, November 8, 2019 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Don Moore officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. 

Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 7, 2019.
