Stella Louise (Walker) Tucker, 77, of Evansille, died of a blood disease Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
She had worked for Chrysler Corp. and Goodwill Industries.
She was a 48-year member of the First Baptist Church. She was a volunteer and worked with the Evansville Area Council of Churches, YWCA and St. Mary’s Medical Center. She worked with the Vietnamese refugees from 1975 to 1980.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Charles “Burt”; a daughter, Norma Greulich of Evansville; a son, John C. of Blairsville, Ind.; a brother, L.D. Walker of Silent Run, Ky.; six grandchildren, Jeffrey, Tim and Kerry Greulich and Josh, John Jr. and Jacob Tucker; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Posey Gaines officiating, with entombment in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
