Stephen L. Datin, age 82, of Evansville, IN, died at home, peacefully on Thursday, December 26, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.
Stephen was born September 12, 1937 in Vincennes, IN, to John C. Datin. and Lucille Datin (Wortazeck). He graduated from Washington Catholic High School and Indiana State University with a degree in accounting. Stephen was a member of MENSA, the Evansville Astrological Society and served 50 years as a Boy Scout leader. He enjoyed his woodworking hobby especially building motorized wooden creations for all to enjoy.
Stephen is survived by his daughter, Lori A. Alexander, of Evansville, sons, Jeffery A. Datin, of Tacoma, WA, and William A. Datin, of Evansville; grandchildren, Sarah, Jason, James Datin, Colleen and Stephen Alexander; great grandchildren, Corwin Datin and Benjamin Marsh.
Stephen is preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Linda L.; parents, John and Lucille Datin; and brother, John “Jack” Datin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 4, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 613 Cherry St. Evansville, IN, with Father Benny Chacko celebrating Mass. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2020 at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL, 5330 Washington Avenue where a Memorial Service will be conducted by Deacon Dennis Russell following visitation at 7:00 p.m. Friends may also visit from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
