Tess Emile Gayle Starks

Tess Emile Gayle Starks, age 35, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 1:35 pm, at Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.

Tess was born May 3, 1982, daughter of Jack R. Starks (Shellee) and Carol L. Newton. She loved her two boys more than they will ever know! She graduated Valedictorian from Evansville Day School in 2000, and graduated with an RN nursing degree from the University of Southern Indiana. She was an excellent student who had a love for learning, loved animals, and was passionate about caring for others.

She is survived by her beloved sons, Carter T.M. Schmidt and Gavin T.X. Schmidt; parents, Jack R. Starks (Shellee) and Carol L. Newton; sister, Lauren Vaught (Drew); step-brothers, Jordan Holmes and Austin Holmes; grandparents, Jack & Rosie Starks; aunts and uncles, Tony & Teresa Hertweck, Michael & Candy Baldwin, Steve & Gayle Melton, and Judy Samuel; cousins, Christopher Melton (Cindy), Courtney Givens (Jeff), Jason Hertweck, Heath Baldwin, and Heather Baldwin; and nieces and nephews, Emerie Vaught, Aiden Vaught, and Junah Vaught.

Tess is preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Patty Hertweck, Jack Rittenour, and grandparents, Jack & Flossie Newton.

Funeral Services will be held at 7 pm, Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel - A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, Indiana, with Pastor Denny Stevenson officiating. Burial will be Private in Sunset Cemetery. 

Friends may visit from 2 pm until 7 pm, Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
