Thomas S. Stallings, 77, of Evansville, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, at his home of a heart attack. He retired in 1971 after 20 years with the Evansville Fire Dept. He was deputy chief for 8
years.
He was an Army veteran and life member to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1114 and American Legion.
He was a member of the Henderson Elks and attended Olivet Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Martha (Hazlett); three daughters, Dora woods and Patricia Ritchie, both of Evansville, and Rita Bilbrey of Washington, Ind.; two sons, James of Michigan City, Mich., and David of Evansville; three sisters, Gertrude Morrow of Henderson, Ky., and Regina Farmer and Emma Baker, both of Evansville; a brother, Jim of California; seven grandchildren, James and Jennifer Ward, Joe and Nicole Woods and David, Candace and Deandra Stallings; a greatgrandchild; and nieces and nephews.
His first wife, Virginia, died in 1965.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. David Mills officiating, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
