Thomas “Tom” D. Denton, Sr. age 82, of Newburgh, IN, passed away at 11:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Hamilton Pointe.
Tom was born September 5, 1935 in Beech Grove, KY to Thomas E. Denton and Virginia (Hunt) Denton. He worked as a Manager for Industrial Equipment and was a member of the Operating Engineers Union Local 181. Tom was a member of Bethel Church and the Road Knights Car Club. He enjoyed dancing, playing cards, golfing, NASCAR, sprint car races, and Indiana University Basketball.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Pat (Gray) Denton; daughters, Leegayle Denton (Anna Campbell), Kelly Denton (Carol Stader), Libby Ubelhor (Danny), Jana Wade; son, Jeffrey Wade; sister, Betty Dausman (Bob); brothers, Ron Denton and Greg Denton (Valerie); sister-in-law, Judy Denton; grandchildren, Christina Lashbrooke (Dan), Ashley Altheide, Ivy Altheide, Luke McElya, Machael Wade, and Makenzi Wade; great grandchildren, Blaire Moats and Daniel Lashbrooke III.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents; son, Thomas D. Denton, Jr.; and brother, Larry Denton.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Hamilton Pointe and the staff at Kindred Hospice.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, March 19, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastors Mike Claypool and Dave Schwambach officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
Friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00p.m., Sunday, March 18, 2018 and 10:30 a.m. until service time on Monday at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
