Virginia Rittenour

Virginia Rittenour, age 96 of Evansville, Indiana passed peacefully away at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at her home.

Virginia was born on August 12, 1921 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Robert and Bernice (Shelton) Pate. She graduated from Benjamin Bosse High School in 1939.  She entered the work force in the Materials Control Division of International Harvester.  In later years, she worked as a purchasing agent for Mesker Steel, eventually retiring from this company.

Virginia is survived by 3 nieces, Judith (Mrs. Jack Thuer) of Venice, Florida, Deborah (Mrs. Phil DeLong) of Newburgh, Indiana, and Cheryl Wheeler of Raleigh, North Carolina.  She also leaves behind 8 great nieces and nephews, and 3 great great nieces and nephew. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Lloyd, her brother-in-law, Lowell and her sister, Bettye Galloway.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, 5330 Washington Avenue.  The Reverend Coy Walters will officiate and burial will follow in Park Lawn Cemetery.  Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until the service.
