Vladimir M. Gomela

Vladimir M. Gomela, age 89, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 2:30 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2019, at Signature HealthCARE.

Vladimir was born November 1, 1930, in Kharkov, Ukraine, to Mikhail and Irina Gomela. He graduated from high school in the Ukraine. He served as Pastor of the Baptist Church in the Ukraine beginning in 1979. Vladimir arrived in the United States in 1996 where he continued serving the Lord. Vladimir was a member of Grace of Christ Church. His passion in life was helping people and leading them to Christ.

Vladimir is survived by his daughters, Luba Stolyarenko (Anatoliy) of Newburgh, IN, and Valentina Shevchenko of Evansville, IN; son, Nikolay Gomela of Ukraine; half-sister, Nataliya; half-brother, Sergey Gomela; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.

Vladimir is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nadia (Kirichenko) Gomela; sisters, Polina and Nadia; brothers, Nikolay and Ivan; and son-in-law, Vladimir Shevchenko.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2019 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Viktor Voronin officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. 

Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until service time, Friday, December 27, 2019 at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL.
