William Paul Hardison

William “Paul” Hardison, 100, a resident of Evansville for 70 years, passed away at 7:20 am, Thursday, October 05, 2017, at Hearthstone Personal Care in Roswell, GA.  

Paul was born November 10, 1916, son of Vernie R. & Maude (Harlan) Hardison, in Muhlenburg County, KY.  Paul served in the U.S. Air Force in World War II and returned to his wife and sweetheart, Fern L. (Wilhite), in 1945.  Paul was a member of Fares Avenue Baptist Church, an avid bowler, and a dedicated baseball and basketball fan. After 38 years of service at Bootz Manufacturing, Paul retired in 1980.

Paul is survived by his daughter, Judith D. and husband Dan Groves, of Marietta, GA; son, Timothy W. and wife Rosa Hardison, of Crete, IL; and four grandchildren, Jason Groves, Jennifer Groves Freeman and husband Chuck Freeman, Megan Hardison, and Lucy Hardison.

Paul was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Fern, his parents, sister, and four brothers.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 am, Monday, October 9, 2017, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville with Pastor Denny Stevenson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.  

Friends may call from 3 pm until 7 pm, Sunday, October 8, 2017, at Boone Funeral Home.
