Anatoliy “Tony” Stolyarenko, age 73, of Newburgh, IN, passed away Monday, June 3, 2024, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.
Tony was born October 31, 1950, in the Region of Kharkiv, Oblast, a territory of Ukraine, to Evan P. and Lidiya Stolyarenko. He attended school in Ukraine and earned his Technical Certificate in Carpentry. He worked at a Wood Decorating Manufacturing Business, even building their family home and some of the furniture.
Tony and his family moved to the United States in September 1994, and they were past members of Bethel Temple where he worked for a short time. He later refinished pianos for Schettler Music. Tony was a member of Grace of Christ Slavic Baptist Church where he served as Worship Leader, Choir Director, and Leader of their Musical Ensemble. He loved music – it was daily in their home, and he played the accordion, guitar, and piano. He was a wonderful husband and father, a good provider, handyman, driver, and cook when necessary. He loved to laugh and make others laugh. Tony especially loved his wife and children and loved providing for their daily needs. He will be greatly missed – he had a life well lived.
Tony is survived by his daughters, Irina Duffy, Olga Tsybulnik, and Julia Tonchev; sons, Vladimir Stolyarenko, Sergey Stolyarenko (Viktoriya), and Daniel Stolyarenko (Yanina); 18 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sister, Luba Tsybulnik (Viktor); and many cousins.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents, Evan and Lidiya Stolyarenko; loving wife of 45 years, Lyubov “Luba” (Gomela) Stolyarenko, who passed away in 2020; son, Yuriy Stolyarenko, who passed away in 2021; and parents-in-law, Vladimir and Nadia Gomela.
