Andrea Ethel (Ward) Johnston

Andrea Ethel (Ward) Johnston, age 87, of Evansville, IN, passed away peacefully in her sleep at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, December 24, 2021, at Majestic Care of Newburgh.

Andrea was born November 17, 1934, in Belfast, ME, to William Vint Ward and Mary Eleanor (Lenfest) Ward. She graduated from Crosby High School in Belfast, Maine in 1953. Andrea attended Living Word Christian Church in Newburgh, Indiana, and was a past member of Court Street Baptist Church in Auburn, Maine. She loved spending time with family, getting lost on mystery road trips, reading, and being outdoors, and she absolutely enjoyed Reese’s peanut butter cups, Pepsi, stealing Doug’s blue M & M’s, original Chex mix, and Maine lobster rolls.

Andrea is survived by her daughters, Amy Maritina Leeman (Shawn), and Lynta Clarice Carter (Douglas); and sons, Daniel Quintin Johnston (Debra) and Eric Wilfred Johnston (Linda); sisters, Anita Findlen, Linda Roberts (James), and Kathleen Bucklin (James); brother, Timothy Ward; grandchildren, Connor, Jordan, Sean (Mia), Preston (Kati), Glen (Kristina), Andrew (Ashley), Joel, Jacob, Ella, Erica, Megan, and Heidi; and 15 great grandchildren.

Andrea is preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Ward; sons, Robert Kurt Johnston and Barry Otto Johnston; siblings, Charles Ward and Laurine Clark, and grandson Eban Johnston.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST, Wednesday, June 29, 2022, Riposta Funeral Home in Belfast, ME, with Reverend Foster Williams officiating. Burial will be in Smart Cemetery in Swanville, ME.
