Anita Marie (Bordenkircher) Gilbert

Anita Marie (Bordenkircher) Gilbert, age 88, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024.

Anita was born February 12, 1936, in Newark, OH, to Harold and Monna (Hughes) Bordenkircher. She graduated from Newark High School and worked in Customer Service for Midwest Federal Credit Union for many years. She was an active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church where she enjoyed volunteering. Anita enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching, gardening, and traveling to Gulf Shores with her girls. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Soup Kitchen. Anita was a very kind-hearted, loving woman with a strong faith in God.

Anita is survived by her sister, Jane Clawson (Dave); daughters, Connie Stewart (Kenny), Julie Overbey (Robin), Michelle Kuenzli, and Jennifer Larrabee; grandchildren, Kristi Williams (Justin), Brandon Stewart (Cambria), Isaac Combs, and Rachel Martinez (Fransico), Megan Kuenzli, and Heather Kuenzli; step grandchildren, Dillon Overbey (Brandy), Jenah Brown, and Caisey Hale (Brendin); great grandchildren, Merrick, Hannah, Colby, Arya, Graysen, Xavier, Gavin, Kolstyn, and Kyren; and step great grandchildren, Ferris, Julian, Will, Garret, Tomson, Maddoxx, and Dexter.

Anita is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Monna Bordenkircher; loving husband of 66 years, Gary Gilbert, who passed away in 2023; and sister, Mary Ann Dilts.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 24, 2024, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in the Atrium, 1301 South Green River Road, Evansville, with Father Bernie Ettienne officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until service time, Friday, May 24, 2024, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
