Anna Mae Johnson Obituary

Anna Mae Wilson (Lloyd) Johnson, age 96, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 6:12 a.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Cypress Grove Rehabilitation Center.

Ann was born June 5, 1926, in Narrows, KY, to Milton C. and Nancy I. (Terrell) Lloyd. She graduated from Barberton High School in Barberton, OH. Ann was known as Rosie the Riverter. During World War II, she worked on P47 airplane wings at Servel for Republic Aviation in Evansville. She retired in 2000 from Vectren after 34 years of service. Ann was a 50-year member of First Baptist Church and was a member of Evansville Chapter No. 555 Order of the Eastern Star and received her 50-year pin in 2003. She was past Worthy Matron in 1959.

Ann was blessed with many friends and neighbors who were always there for her. She wants them to know her heartfelt gratitude for their help and many acts of kindness and thoughtfulness throughout the years. She often said she felt that God placed her in her neighborhood because of how much she came to love her neighbors.

Ann is survived by her nephew, Donald Ellis Lloyd (Carol); great niece, Dawn Annette Renfrow; great nephew, Donald Hugh Lloyd; other great nephews and several great great nephews; and special friends who are dear to her heart, Sandra Bee, Young Jack Lincoln who called her “His True Love,” and David Mason.

Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Nancy Lloyd; first husband, Paul E. Wilson; second husband, Wayne H. Johnson; brothers, William Henry, Roy Solomon, Ellis C., Shellie M., Everett Candy, Thomas Hugh, and James N. Lloyd; nephew, Rickie Lloyd; and special friends, Sue Harkins and Mark Schaefer.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 2200 Mesker Park Drive, Evansville, IN.
