Arthur W. “Art” “Butch” Epperson, age 83, of Evansville, IN, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Heart to Heart Hospice House.
Arthur was born April 26, 1942, in Evansville, IN, to the late Arthur William Epperson and Melba (Schuman) Epperson. He graduated from Central High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Arthur received his business degree from Lockyear Business College. He worked for Flanders Electric for 45 years. Arthur was a member of the YMCA where he enjoyed playing basketball. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal’s fan. Arthur was thrilled to participate in the Honor Flight. He was also a motor escort vehicle for the Bicycle Club. He loved playing cards, bowling, and animals.
Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Carolyn Epperson; daughter, Leslye Zipperer (Joseph); sister, Margie Baggett; grandchildren, Maxwell and Daniel Zipperer; niece, Chris Koczo (Nick); and nephews, Greg Baggett and Kevin Waters.
Arthur is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Melba Epperson; brothers in law, Gordon Mayberry and Gary Baggett; and life-long friend, Gary Peck.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Terry Gamblin officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
