Avis Carroll Obituary
Avis L. Carroll, age 93, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 5:15 a.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at her son’s home.
Avis was born March 26, 1928, in Mt. Vernon, IL to Raymond and Ruth (Greer) Hogue. Avis was a member of Faith Nazarene Church, where she loved helping. She was a Hairdresser for 32 years and retired from Sutties and then went to work for Buy-Low for 15 years. Avis loved to cook, craft and yard sales. She especially loved spending time with family. Every month she contributed to the DAV.
Avis is survived by her sons, Stephen L. Carroll (LouAnn) and Raymond W. Carroll (Paula); grandchildren, Crystal Vallee, Richard Traylor, Jeremy Carroll, Shannon Scott, and Kayla Cantrell; many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; sister, Martha Koteski; longtime friend, Ruth Conover.
Avis is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 56 1/2 years, Leland Carroll; daughter, Brenda Wallace; sister, Maxine Patterson; and brothers, Raymond, Bill and Don Hogue.
Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Cathy West officiating. A Live Stream will be available beginning twenty minutes prior to the service time. Avis will be carried to Sunset Cemetery by horse drawn carriage for burial following the funeral service.
