Barbara J. Case, age 94, of Evansville, IN, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 5, 2024, at the Heritage Center Nursing Home.
Barbara was born February 1, 1930, in Terre Haute, IN, to William and Dollie (Collins) Frye. She graduated from Wiley High School and Frankfort Bible College. Barbara was married to Reverend Alfred Case in 1951. Barbara and her family moved to Evansville in 1956. She was honored to be a pastor’s wife serving at Forest Hill Wesleyan Church and Church of Christ of Christian Union. Barbara was most recently a member of North Park Wesleyan Church. She retired from Sears after 20 years of service in 1996. Barbara ended her career as a hostess at TLC restaurant.
Barbara is survived by her children, Lana Weber (Gary), Kemuel Case (Karen) and Joy Bell (Keith) all of Evansville; sisters, Frances Cox and Betty Cooprider; grandchildren, Christy Merrill (Mark), Whitney Livesay (Dan), Ryan Case (Blair), Taylor Young (Zach), Stacey Coughlin and Angie Maurer (Tony); 13 great grandchildren with one on the way; 10 great great grandchildren; and family by choice, Darren and Tami Conrad, Meagan Hoefling and Lexi Farney.
Barbara is preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Reverend Alfred Case in 2013; her parents William and Dollie Frye; sisters, Mary Coppock, Sylvia Moyes and Virginia Case; and grandsons, Austin Keith Bell and Jason Coughlin.
The family would like to thank the Heritage Center and the staff at Heritage Hospice for their loving care.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Chris Shimboff officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
