Barbara Ellen (Todd) Massey

Barbara Ellen (Todd) Massey, age 76, of Evansville, IN, passed away Monday, March 10, 2025, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital – Newburgh.

Barbara was born July 7, 1948, in Evansville, IN, to Robert Sidney Todd and Alma Jean (Hawkins) Todd, as the youngest of 12. She graduated from North High School in 1966. She was a past member of Living Word Christian Church, and in the past few years, she enjoyed forming a friendship with Bro. Larry from Vann Avenue Baptist Church. Barbara was proud to be a mom and loved being a homemaker until her children were older. She then worked at TJ Maxx warehouse for 20 years until she retired. Despite some hardships, she never allowed life to pull her down; she had a beautiful, quiet strength that allowed her to rise above. She had a huge heart, and she had the talent of chatting people up and becoming fast friends. Barbara absolutely adored her family and was very close to her siblings, nieces, and nephews, as well.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Shannon Beard (Andy), Susan Thaddies, and Stacy Methena; son, Harold “Junior” Massey, Jr. (Lacey); sister, Jenny Payne; grandchildren, Corey Rhodes, Clint Rhodes, Damon Brantley, Cody Pfingston, Shane Brantley, Corina Clark, Aaron Jenkins, Kyle Bratcher, Devin Massey, and Hailey Massey; great grandchildren, Zayne, Corbin, Gracelyn, Elijah, Sierra, Jackson, Raelyn, Serenity, Paisley, Rowyn, and Winter; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Alma Todd; loving husband of 41 years, Harold Massey, Sr., who passed away in 2017; 5 sisters; and 5 brothers.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Rev. Dr. Larry Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
