Barry Waddle Obituary

Barry Edward Waddle, age 90, of Evansville, IN passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at his home surrounded by family and friends.

Barry was born August 5, 1932, in Keensburg, IL to Edward and Lela Mae Waddle (Higginson). In 1950 he graduated from Mt. Carmel High School before going on to receive his Bachelor’s in Education from Oakland City College and his Master’s from the University of Evansville. Barry taught English and Art for 34 ½ years and was an accomplished artist and painter.

Barry was also part of the Silver Tone Trio where he traveled with a Missionary to the Islands and the East Coast. The trio recorded an album in Elvis Presley’s studio using his band. Barry also sang with several quartets in college and in churches.

He married Inez (Fleenor) in 1986. They attended Living Word Christian Church in Newburgh, IN. They enjoyed their time together, family, singing, Bible study and traveling with family and friends. They have traveled to most of the States and Islands. Barry especially enjoyed attending events of grandchildren and great grandchildren. There was never something chocolate that Barry did not like. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Barry is survived by his wife of 36 years, Inez Waddle (Bell); step children, Tom Fleenor (Tracy), Cathy Raber (Mike), and Susan Maier (Doug); grandchildren, Nathan Fleenor (Betsy), Zack Fleenor (Rachel), Ryan Raber (Erin), Abby Watson (Craig), Mallory Acheson (Alex), Paige Maier, Nicole Maier, Evan Logue, and Courtney Logue; great grandchildren, J.T. and Emma Fleenor, Claire, Owen and Luke Fleenor, Bo and Eli Raber, Zoey and Marley Watson, and Myer Acheson; sister, Sharon Mobley (Harold); and nieces and nephews.

Barry is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Lela Mae Waddle; sister, Alice Jean McGuire; and stepfather, Dennel Deputy.

The family appreciated the services of Heart-to-Heart Hospice.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Tommy Epperson and Pastor Matt Silen officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery, Mt Carmel, IL.

Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 17, 2023 and from 9:00 a.m. until service time Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
