Betty (Hilgeman) Baker, 95, of Evansville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December, 28, 2025 at Heart to Heart Hospice House in Evansville, IN.
She was born on October 22, 1930, to Millard and Ruby (Pfingston) Hilgeman. She married Estel Baker in 1950 and was married for 44 years. She was a devoted sister, daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. Her loving kindness and generosity towards her family and others will never be forgotten.
Survivors include her three children, Linda (Kenneth) Bockelman of Richland, IN, Carletta Baker of Evansville, IN, and Michael (Laura) Baker of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Kevin (Andrea) Bockelman, Jeff Bockelman, Heather (Tom) Gray, and Leslie (Mitch) Baker-Crowe; great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Lydia, Lilian, Trevor, Wyatt, Clark and Taylor; and sister, Loretta Lechner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Orville Hilgeman and William Hilgeman; sisters, Delores McMillan, Audrey Waggoner, Shirley Jankowski, Ruby Carra, Mary Norwood, Peggy Austin and Beverly Norwood; and her husband, Estel “Baker” Baker.
The family would like to thank the Heart to Heart Hospice House team for their compassionate, supportive care and kindness shown to our family during her final days.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 9, 2026, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Dave Cullison officiating. Entombment will be in Oak Hill Mausoleum.
Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Friday, January 9, 2026, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
